Apple, iPhone and 10,000 Apps
Since Apple released its second generation iPhone, the iPhone 3G, it has received a lot of attention; mostly good than bad. Apple came to lime light with this revolutionary device few times already with the lawsuit of some unhappy customers and also with the ban of its commercials in the UK. But that doesn’t mean the popularity of this all-in-one device have reduced in any way. Apple recently became the Third Largest Phone Supplier just after a year of coming into the mobile phone market. Which proves the success and the popularity of this device. Also, according to TestFreaks, who analyses most reviews, iPhone 3G has scored 8.7 out of 10. Quite amazing if you ask me.

Just a month before the iPhone 3G was released, apple launched the App Store for users to buy Games and Applications for their iPhone. This app store has been a massive success for Apple since then selling millions of dollars worth of apps and recently hitting the 10,000 applications mark. The App Store not only created a central repository for the iPhone applications, it also created great opportunities for the developers. Although the 10,000 number looks massive, it’s hard to tell how many of these applications are really useful.
But, either way it’s a success that all other companies will envy. And as long as Mr. Jobs is running Apple, this success rate will be hard to reduce.
