Creating An iTunes App Store Account Without A Credit Card
I’ve seen this in so many forums and websites where people are dying to know how to create an iTunes App Store account without a credit card so that they can enjoy all the FREE application and games. Incidentaly there’s a very easy solution. Just follow the following step by step procedure and you’ll have an App Store account in no time.
Also please ask queries or questions on the FORUMS.
Note: In order to create an account without a credit card, you must make sure you are in the App Store, not the iTunes Store. You’ll also need the latest version of the iTunes.
- Pick your country from the pop-up menu at the bottom of the iTunes Store homepage.
- If your country also has an iTunes Store, you’ll need to navigate to the App Store by clicking on the “App Store” link from the menu on the left. If not, proceed to step 3.
- Important: You must attempt to purchase a free application before going on to step 4.
- Click create new account.

- Click continue.
- You’ll need to read and agree to the iTunes terms and conditions, make sure you check the box next to where it says “I have read and agree to the iTunes Terms and Conditions.” Click Continue.
- Enter in your email address, create your password, continue to create and answer your security question, then enter your birthday. Click Continue.
- Select None as the payment option.
- Continue to fill out the required name and address fields.
- You’ll then see a screen that says ‘Verify your Account’. Click Done and then check your email for a verification email from “iTunes Store.”
- Open the mail, and click on the phobos link enclosed in the email to activate your account.

- Once you click on the link, iTunes should then prompt you to sign in with your account name and password.
- You’ll then see a “Congratulations” screen. Click Done to be taken to the App Store home page.

There you go, you’ve just created your iTunes App Store account without providing your CC details. I told you it is easy

Yes am dying since 2W, trying to download free apps into my iPhone; unbelievable !! i get msg error saying blabla not authorized pls connect to iTunes!!
I have setup an app store account.
Unbelievable how some apple doc can be confusing!
Now concerning your steps:
Note: In order to create an account without a credit card, you must make sure you are in the App Store, not the iTunes Store.
>>> where is App store to be found??
>>> I see apple store
1. Pick your country from the pop-up menu at the bottom of the iTunes Store homepage.
>>> where is this home page?
2. If your country also has an iTunes Store, you’ll need to navigate to the App Store by clicking on the “App Store” link from the menu on the left. If not, proceed to step 3.
>>> not clear enough
>>> don't see any link, probably am on wrong page
3. Important: You must attempt to purchase a free application before going on to step 4.
>>>> why???
4. Click create new account.
>>> have done many times but still not work.
Simple question pls:
Now that i have already set up an account, and installing free app doesn't work, what should i do?
should i delete my account and restart from beginning?
don't see any possibility to delete account, getting crazy.

i dont get the “NONE” option when it asks for billing info its one of the 3 credit cards i have to choose and thats it
October 23rd, 2008 at 12:27 am
which country has the 'none' option?
Australia has 3 credit cards to choose from , the US has 5. But there is no 'none' option to choose from.
October 23rd, 2008 at 1:04 am
Please make sure you've followed the instructions right. Again, before going into creating an account, you've to select you country from the iTunes store, then go to the App Store from the left hand menu and follow the rest of the procedure. You'll see “None” as the last item in the “Payment Method” section. For australia, none is the fourth option.
'I've just tested it again and it works fine.
Good Luck!

November 20th, 2008 at 6:37 pm
Hi.. tried out this methods of signing up for an account and all is fine until I get to continuing past the page where you select “None” as a payment option.
I can select it fine, but when I click Submit I get an error saying I have not filled in the credit card details.
Has anyone else had this sort of problem, and does anyone know a workaround or solution?

There seems to be an issue with the Free account creation process. We're in the process of contacting apple to find out what's causing this, whether they've closed it or it's just a temporary bug.
We'll let you all know as soon as we hear back from Apple support.
November 24th, 2008 at 5:28 pm
Cheers. Glad to hear that it's just not an isolated case with me… for a moment there I thought Apple didn't like me or something lol
