Finally eBay has released the Australian version of the iPhone Application. Now you can start shopping again from anywhere you want. The application seems to be quite extensive though don’t expect to get all the functionality of the standard web based eBay. The first impression of the application is good and the overall experience is good too except that I couldn’t find how to refine the search with a price range. I assume many such functionalities will be missing as the application is made for mobile devices and there’s only so much you can fit into the applications made for these smaller devices. But the application provides you the most needed functionality such as search, bid, sneak in that last-minute bid, checking on sales, etc., on the go.

Application Features:

  • Advance search refinements
  • Real time bidding
  • Auto-complete search terms
  • Improved password security
  • Detailed seller feedback and ratings view-ability
  • View watch list
  • International eBay site search and multi-language support

Finally, the app is designed particularly for buyers and sellers mainly to check on their activity or any last minute bid. So if you expect something similar to the actual web based eBay then you’ll be disappointed. But if you think of it as an iPhone Application with limited functionality then you’ll feel lucky to have this App on your iPhone or iPod Touch.
