One of few must have features or functions that Apple’s all-in-one gadget has been missing for a long time is the copy and paste. While the iPhone users are crying out loud for it, Apple doesn’t seem to care much about it. Why? That’s only Mr. Jobs can answer.

When the regular users can just wait and hope that Apple may add this feature to upcoming firmware, someone with the right expertise have taken the actions and came up with the Copy & Paste solution for iPhone. And it’s called Pastebud.

Pastebud allows you to copy and paste between Safari webpages, between Safari and Mail and also from Mail to Safari. The best thing about Pastebud is you don’t have to have a Jailbroken iPhone and it doesn’t breach Apple’s developers agreement either. So it’s a happy happy solutions for everyone. Here’re some screen shots and features:

How it works:

Pastebud enables round-trip copy and paste on your iPhone or iPod Touch, between the two applications that matter the most: Mail and Safari. And through a clever combination of web services and bookmarklets, it does it without requiring a jailbreak or App Store download. Here’s a video of Pastebud in action:

Procedure to use Pastebud:

From Mail, open the email that you’d like to copy…

… forward it to your secret pastebud address…

… and click the selection link in the instant reply from pastebud.

From Safari, open the web page that you’d like to copy…

… and use the COPY bookmark to start selection.

Select as you would in a text editor: Tap and hold to start selection, and release to end it.

Tap the Compose button in the upper left to send the selection into a new email.

Tap the Copy button in the upper right, open the web page in which you want to paste…

… use the PASTE bookmark to enable all text areas for paste…

… and tap the desired text area to append the clipboard.
