iPhone, Unlock iPhone, iPhone Games, iPhone Applications, iPhone Accessories, iPhone GPS, iPhone Australia

So the OS 3 is finally here. At about 3 am this morning the OS 3 has been released to Australian iTunes. I don’t know about you guys but I wasn’t really up that late to download and install OS 3 even though I was as much excited as most of you are. A lot of people have complained that they couldn’t download the latest firmware because the apple server couldn’t coupe up with the traffic.

iPhone OS 3Anyway, it should have eased up by now so if you haven’t updated yours already then get into it now. But be mindful that neither the jailbreak nor the unlocking is available yet. So if you’ve used yellowsn0w to unlock your iPhone then you may want to hold off till Friday when the dev team releases the jailbreaking and unlocking solution. Otherwise if you upgrade now then you won’t be able to use your phone.

But if you’ve already upgraded your iPhone OS then please share your experience with us.

This happens all the time, just before any major event we start seeing leaked information about that event. Some of them becomes reality but most end up being fake or rumors. And Apple’s WWDC is no exception to that. We’re just couple of days away from the WWDC event where Apple is announcing iPhone OS 3.0, Mac OSX 10.6 Snow Leopard and the most talked about, the new iPhone. We sure are very excited about all these and can’t wait any longer for the event.

And to make the wait seem more longer, images of “new” iPhone has emerged the internet. Apparently these images have been leaked from some authentic source. Where the images are authentic or not, we’ll find out in the next couple of days but for now here’re the images to fuel the rumor.

Here are some of the features of new iPhone:

  • 16×9 wide-screen display
  • ULTRA Thin design
  • Darker chrome colored bezel
  • New Home Button
  • Front facing camera
  • 3.2MP Camera with Video support (both front and back cameras)
  • 3G Network speeds

The images sure look impressive especially the bigger screen and the ultra thin design. I sure will be tempted to upgrade mine if this is real. So I guess we’ll find out soon whether it’s real or another fine design work by someone.

What do you think?

I know how’re you’re feeling for not being able to use Skype or Fring on the run over 3G/EDGE. I personally used to be annoyed over this. Well, I did patch Fring to use over 3G as I posted here before. But doing that was a bit of a hassle. But fortunately you don’t have to go through that hassle anymore. To patch either Fring or Skype now, all you’ve to do is intall VoIPover3G & Mobile Substrate and you’re done. The only catch is, you’ve to have a Jailbroken iPhone and Cydia installed. If yo haven’t jailbroken your iPhone yet then here’s how to do it.

VoIPover3G tricks apps into thinking that they’re running over Wi-Fi while they’re actually running over 3G. It has been in Cydia for a while now and had Fring & Truephone included. They’ve just added Skype in the app too so now all you’ve to do is open Cydia and search for VoIPover3G & Mobile Substrate and install them and you’re done!

Easy, ai!!

Finally Skype has joined the iPhone party by releasing the Free App for iPhone & iPod Touch. I know we could use Skype before and we’ve been using skype through the other IM apps available on App Store. But having a dedicated app is always a plus.

SkypeAlmost every feature will be available on the Skype iPhone app. Skype will allow you to make free Skype-to-Skype calls on your iPhone and iPod touch by simply connecting to a Wi-Fi zone. Understandably you won’t be allowed to make calls over 3G or EDGE. But you can make VoIP calls over Wi-Fi. The Skype app also syncs with your iPhone contacts and allows you to filter and search based on users who already have Skype accounts and even make SkypeOut calls through Wi-Fi.

Signing into Skype via 3G, EDGE, GPRS will allow you to check who is online and send them instant message as well.

Overall if you’re a regular Skype user then you’re going to love this app. At least now I can use my iPhone during meetings with the excuse that I am dealing with my off-shore developers :) . Nice!!!

Finally (after a long time sitting in our to-do list) we’ve optimised our site to be nicely viewable on the iPhone. It’s much more easier and not to mention way faster now to browse your favorite iPhone site on Safari browser on your iPhone. Our iPhone optimised blog is not only compatible with iPhone, iPhone 3G or even iPod Touch; it’s also compatible with other mobile devices (i.e. BlackBerry) and mobile OS (i.e. Google Android) that are capable of web browsing.

Check our popular iPhone WiKi blog on your iPhone, iPod Touch or any other mobile devices and let us know what you think about it. And DO NOT forget to give us your feedback for us to make it even better.

Looks like Apple could finally hear you. I was never so excited until now after the announcements of iPhone OS 3.0. I am sure you’ll agree with me too. iPhone OS 3.0 is finally bringing almost all the features you ever wanted on your iPhone. Yes, now we’re talking.

We had these speculation around that iPhone OS 3.0 might finally bring some big updates. And, our wishlist seems to have become reality. How? I am sure you know by now. But just in case you’ve missed the big news then here’s the list of all the new features.

  • A long waited Cut-Copy-Paste (text and image) across any applications including third party apps
  • MMS support from within the built in SMS application.
  • OS wise search. A new home window now allows you to search for anything on your iPhone. Finding information on your iPhone was never been easier.
  • One of the updates that got me most excited is the support of A2DP. Now, I can use my bluetooth stereo headset to listen to my music and answer calls at the same time. Yay!! No more wiring.
  • Not to mention, turn by turn GPS is another most exciting feature been added to OS 3.0. I am sure, TomTom won’t wait any longer to bring out their iPhone version of the GPS app.
  • Peer to Peer connectivity over Bluetooth for file transfer and gaming
  • Landscape keyboard. Finally you will be able to use the keyboard in landscape mode in any appliation.
  • Voice recording and editing app has been added. You can also email or MMS those recordings now.

We’re still missing the flash support but over 100 new additions along with the one’s outlined above; I don’t think anyone will be complaining about anything for a long time.

Watch the keynote for all the features.

Here’s another promo code giveaway. This time a cool app called Safety Button. We wouldn’t stress it too much. But I can tell you that you wouldn’t want to miss the opportunity to get your hands on this app.

Safety Button is as simple as it is smart. When you start the program, your iPhone starts tracing your steps on a server. If you press the button, the server will contact your chosen friend with a distress message containing your position and a panic message.

Safety ButtonSafety ButtonSafety Button

You can send your position to your friends with the click of only one button. Perfect for all those occasions when you’re outside and suddenly don’t feel safe – at night time or in the daylight; we all feel uneasy sometime. Just start Safety Button and you are a thumb’s movement away from a friend. With the press of a button you do the following:

  1. Sound an alarm
  2. sms your position
  3. email your position and the route which took you there
  4. make a distress call

You can do this to any contact on iPhone.

HOW IT WORKS

When you open Safety Button your iPhone will start tracking your position via the device’s built-in gps. The information is stored on our servers and the server will send the information to your contact as soon as you press the Safety Button.

My Timetable
The cool thing about My Timetable is the support of two views:

  • Whole week in panoramic format (landscape) with zoom.
  • Day by day in vertical format (portrait)

Further, you can organise tasks by colors and add notes to the tasks. You can determine the timetable length by fixing a term of validity or simply by marking it as indefinite. You can differentiate between future, present and expired timetables. And of course multiple timetables are supported.

Finally, The interface is sleek and the application is fast and easy to use. And, with our promo code, you can now download the app for FREE. Good Luck!
