Here’s something that will get iPod Touch owners excited. All this long if you were thinking of having an iPhone so that you could make calls then those days are finally over. Now you can use your iPod Touch to make calls anywhere in the world. Well you could’ve used your iPod Touch to make calls before but with a lot of hassle. But now thanks to Truphone, you can turn your iPod Touch into a phone easily as long you have Wi-Fi connection and a headphone.
Like other voip phone services you can make free calls to other Truephone users and to the users of the Google Talk instant messaging service. The app is Free and available from App Store.
Requirements:
- A second generation iPod touch (i.e. current model)
- A free download of Truphone for iPod touch
- A headset and microphone like those for the iPhone. These may be bought at high street electronics retailers or from an Apple Store
- Friends also using Truphone!
Making a Truphone call on an iPod touch
The Truphone application provides you with a virtual keypad that enables you to make the call.
How it works
Truphone works by routing calls over the Internet through Wi-Fi.
