Vegas Pool Sharks is a pool game as the name suggests. So if you wanted to improve your pool skills then this is the time as the lite version offers Free download. The game seems to be good except few issue that got me “concerned”. I’ll quickly talk about the game first then explain my concerns.

The game play isn’t bad. It doesn’t have WOW graphics but I still thought it is quite good. You play against the build in character and earn money by winning each game. Similarly you loose money if you loose a game. The accuracy of shots isn’t that bad either. Initially you may struggle a bit to point and shot at the right direction but after a bit of practice you will get the hang of it. One of the problems I faced was to see the number of the balls. It’s really hard to see the number and shot accordingly. So I just kept dropping whichever ball came on my way :). You can rotate and change your target by moving the stick from left to right or right to left with you finger, which is quite handy I thought. So overall, the game isn’t that bad.

Now to my concerns; the game has been rated for 12+. But there’re two things that caught my eyes. One is the winning money bit and the other one is the poker machines in the background. I know the game seems to portray the las vegas environment but then the rating isn’t right. The rating should’ve been 16+ or 18+. We shouldn’t try to encourage our kids to play for money, which is what the game is about. And secondly the graphics gives you an all around pub environment. The background poker machines are grayed but you can still easily say that those are poker machines. Again, we’re not trying to get our kids used to this kind of environment. We have to set good example for our kids in every possible way and this kind of exercise will not help at all.

Apart from those concerns I thought the game was good. Does it worth spending $2.49 USD? I didn’t think so. I would’ve given 3 star but because of those two issues, I’ve given it 2 stars.
